Rules & Gameplay
Regulation games shall be two 18 minute halves using a stop time clock. Pool Play games can end up in ties. Beginning and from the second half on, a 6 goal lead at any point will end the match (mercy). 4 goal leads will begin a run time clock until match ends of if a 3 goal lead or less emerges.
Pool play games ending with a win will be 3 points. Ties will result in one point. Losses will be a big fat zero points. Upon completion of pool play, tie breakers will be (1) Goal differential, (2) Goals For, (3)Beer Chugging Head to Head (Quickest to finish a beer)
All gameplay rules not mentioned above will follow USA Broomball's latest rulebook release (if we can find a copy)
Protective Netting below goal line will be in play. Balls hitting ceiling, ventilation, support beams, or netting above goal line will be out of play.
PLAYOFFS will be 1 game with two 18 minute halves. Overtime will be 3 on 3 with goalies, no clock, 10 minute periods then 1 minute break and repeat until winner.
Hockey style helmets must be worn, visor optional. Game balls will be provided courtesy of HAGAN BROOMBALL. Numbered jerseys are required and numbers must be different. TEAM ROSTERS ARE DUE BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE TEAM'S FIRST GAME. No cameras may be used on the ice by players affixed to helmets nor body.
Physical altercation / fighting will lead to game misconduct and/or ejection from the tournament. Referee and tournament director will decide upon status of physical altercation. Full on fighting is immediate DQ from tournament. Verbal abuse of the referees will not be tolerated.
